In-the-Hoop Eyeglass Case
This embroidery project is an original design created by the instructor. It is stitched in the hoop and features an applique of glasses frames with circular echo quilting for the remainder of the case. It is fully lined and only requires a quick final seam on your sewing machine. It requires a 200 x 200 mm hoop or larger. Have some fun finding shiny fabrics for the lenses.
Your instructor has been a machine embroiderer for over 20 years and is familiar with all major brands of embroidery machines.
Even if you are new to In-the-Hoop designs, Mary will guide you through the process. In our 2 hour class, you may even have time to make a second one!
Equipment and Supply List
Equipment
• Embroidery machine, power cord, foot pedal, manual, needles, bobbins
• Embroidery hoop at least 200x200mm
• Basic Sewing Supplies – scissors, pins/clips, rotary cutter/cutting mat, seam ripper, thread clippers, 24” ruler, marking pen/pencil/chalk, needle, and thread
Supplies
• 2 fat quarters or 2 10” layer cake squares
• Batting
• Embroidery thread
• Embroidery design provided by the educator

| Instructor Bio: | Mary has been sewing for over 60 years and has made all of her clothes since she was in the 8th grade. For the past four years, she has taught beginner sewing, garment sewing, bag making, machine embroidery and various projects, including pillows, table toppers, placemats, and other home decor items. Mary is knowledgeable about all major brands of sewing machines, embroidery machines, sergers, and cover stitch machines. Additionally, she has over 40 years of experience teaching in public high schools. |
