Beginning Embroidery Fun!

If you are new to machine embroidery or just need more help to stitch successful projects, this class is for you.
Machine embroidery can be super fun, but also can produce sub-par results. In this class you will learn a “Recipe” containing the basic ingredients of machine embroidery. Each ingredient varies according to the project, but in the right combination, will ensure that your embroidery produces a beautiful result.
Join us to learn Mary’s recipe for success with machine embroidery. No matter what embroidery machine you own, you will learn to select the ingredients for a successful embroidery. The recipe includes: Fabric, Design, Stabilizer, Hooping, Thread, and Needle. During the class, students will stitch out 2 designs on kitchen towels. The designs feature lettering and appliques and were created by the instructor for this class.
What to bring:
* Embroidery machine including embroidery unit
* User’s manual, if possible, 120 x 120mm hoop or larger
* Machine embroidery foot and power cord
* USB thumb drive
* 2 smooth textured kitchen towels (not waffle weave or terry cloth)
* Embroidery and bobbin threads
* Washaway stabilizer
* Water soluble fabric marker
* Small scraps of fabric to applique the orange and the olive.
NOTE: Don’t have a hoop large enough? You can use a built-in design from your machine.

| Instructor Bio: | Mary has been sewing for over 60 years and has made all of her clothes since she was in the 8th grade. For the past four years, she has taught beginner sewing, garment sewing, bag making, machine embroidery and various projects, including pillows, table toppers, placemats, and other home decor items. Mary is knowledgeable about all major brands of sewing machines, embroidery machines, sergers, and cover stitch machines. Additionally, she has over 40 years of experience teaching in public high schools. |
