Train Case Upcycle Workshop (2 Day) - Apr 29 & Apr 30

Students will learn the process of relining and upcycling the interior/exterior of vintage train cases.
This is a hands on workshop covering topics of:
1: Deconstruction and prepping the case
2: Creating pattern for new lining
3. Creating the new lining components
4. Attaching the new lining
5. Optional exterior embellishments
Supplies Needed:
Train Case
½ yard will cover lid and base
? yard for hinge cover
¼ yard for wall piece
¼ yard for pockets from 2 different fabrics
I typically buy 4 different fabrics @ ½ yard each
1 ½ yds Peltex ( Single side fusible or non-fusible)
1 yd SF101 ShapeFlex 101 fusible interfacing
2 yd. Ribbon/ruffle or trim for inside lid
Mod Podge Hard Coat (purple label)
1 inch paint brush
Small and medium clamps ( Harbor Freight has an assortment bag for $8.99)
Freezer paper
Retractable tape measure
Blue tape
Neodymium magnets (holds things in place during glue process)

| Requirements: | Student Requirement Prior to Workshop: Clean exterior of train case Gut interior of case and clean out debris (Save Base/lid piece for pattern) If the interior smells badly you can paint a coat of Kilz prior to class |
