Materials Provided by Instructor:  Embroidery design and instructions.

Materials Students Must Bring:

•         Embroidery machine capable of using a 120 x 120 mm hoop or larger.  I recommend using a 150 x 150 for best results
•         Hoop that is at least 120 X 120mm.
•         Lightweight cut away stabilizer or wash away stabilizer
•         5” square of batting (TIP:  If you use fusible fleece, put the fusible side down.  This actually helps in the finishing after the embroidery is done.)
•         Strips of scrap fabric in various lengths and widths.  Some need only be 1.5” wide for the inner parts of the design.  The outer areas will need to be about 3” wide. 
•         2 squares of backing fabric, 9.5 x 9.5”, folded in half crosswise and pressed
•         All-purpose sewing thread for the construction of the coaster
•         60 wt. bobbin thread
•         40 wt. embroidery thread for the spiral quilting in a color that will show up on your coaster
•         1.5” strip of Heat and Bond tape, ¼” wide
•         Curved embroidery snips or applique scissors
•         USB for transferring the design
•         Painter’s tape
