Metro Rings with the Quick Curve Ruler
Learn how to cut and sew the Quick Curve Ruler way. It makes curved piecing so easy. Once you master the technique, so many adorable patterns will make their way to your “to-make” list. This wedding ring quilt is made from strips and is an easy way to make this traditional favorite. There will be some precutting required.
Materials list
- Metro Rings Pattern by Sew Kind of Wonderful (avail in the shop)
- Quick Curve Ruler by Sew Kind of Wonderful (avail in the shop)
- Machine with quarter inch foot
- Neutral or matching thread
- 45mm Rotary cutter
- Cutting mat (rotating mat is helpful),
- 18 inch ruler (width doesn’t matter)
- 10 inch or larger square up rule
- Fabric Requirements
1 jelly roll or 35 2.5-inch strips
5 yards background fabric
.5 yard each of 2 different fabrics for setting triangles
Homework –
Cutting - See the cutting instructions on page 1 of the pattern. You can do all the precutting of the strips, background, and setting triangles. But at least cut the following:
1. Cut all the jelly roll strips in half on the fold
2. Cut at least 4 of the 9 inch background squares and cut in half on the diagonal.
3. Cut at least 8 of the 2.75 x 10 inch rectangles
4. Cut at least 4 of the 4.5 inch squares from each of the setting fabrics and cut in half on the diagonal.
